MEP maintenance
MEP maintenance with one accountable team
The systems behind the ceiling and in the plant room rarely get noticed until they fail. MEP maintenance puts them on a plan, looked after by one team rather than a separate contractor for each.
What this covers
Our MEP maintenance focuses on the mechanical and plumbing systems of commercial buildings, such as:
- Air conditioning. The equipment that keeps the building cool.
- Water. Hot and cold water supply.
- Drainage. Drains and the pipework that carries waste water away.
- Pumps and tanks. The pumps that move water around the building and the tanks that store it.
Planned preventive maintenance
Planned preventive maintenance (PPM) is the core of it: inspections and servicing on a schedule built around how the building is used, so wear is caught while it is still simple to fix.
It's the difference between a building that is looked after and one that is only ever repaired. A pump that is serviced on schedule is far less likely to fail without warning.
MEP maintenance or building maintenance?
They overlap. Building maintenance is the broader term for keeping a building in working order. MEP maintenance is narrower: it's about the building's technical services. For us, that means the mechanical and plumbing systems listed above.
Many buildings need both. Air conditioning is usually the largest part of it, which is why AC maintenance contracts have their own page.
One team for the technical systems
Maintenance tends to fall apart when several contractors each look after one system and nobody looks at the building as a whole. One team maintaining the mechanical and plumbing systems means fewer handoffs and one point of contact.
